Last October, Feniks has developed and validated a new prototype to clean flat heliostats at the Noor Energy 1 solar plant. For the first time, this sort of plant, with more than 70.000 heliostats, will have an automated vehicle for cleaning that will allow to increase the frequency of cleaning thanks to its performance with lower costs than current systems.
The vehicle will provide service with 9 other units in the CSP plant with tower technology of phase IV of the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park” Solar Complex, placed 50 km south of the city of Dubai and owned by ACWA Power.
As technical aspects to highlight the automatic detection of the mirror, the constant pressure of the brushing system, the lowest consumption of water on the market in an arid environment and the interchangeability of cleaning devices for cleaning with high pressure more superficial.
The vehicles have great autonomy thanks to their trailer with a water tank and sufficient maneuverability for proper circulation through the solar field.
